Wessex Guild of Bookbinders
About us
We are based in Holt Heath near Wimborne, Dorset. The aim of the Guild is to keep alive and also promote the craft of bookbinding and cherish and care for books on a non-commercial basis. Some members undertake private commissions.
The Guild is the only fully equipped amateur bookbinders in the South West. There is no formal teaching. Members help each other and attend courses elsewhere.
The members meet on either Tuesdays or Thursdays. There is a very comprehensive amount of equipment and materials, the latter of which the members are able to buy what they need.

Visits from J Hewit & Sons Ltd, who are an established supplier of bookbinding tools and equipment, are arranged for further opportunities to purchase supplies.
Members hold an annual open day with demonstrations and displays of bindings, and are also encouraged to exhibit their work at various craft venues.
The Guild is a member of ​The Society of Bookbinders.
